Shipping & Pre-Orders

Pre-Orders

All of our Bearded Irises are sent out as bare root rhizomes. We offer a pre-ordering service so you can secure your favourite varieties.

  • Due to the seasonal nature of these plants, pre-ordering will open in advance of the lifting season.
  • Payment is required at the time of ordering.
  • Orders are fulfilled in the order they are received.

estimated dispatch windows are provided at the time of ordering and maybe subject to change due to weather or plant readiness.

Dispatch Season

Bearded Irises are shipped bare-root during their natural dormant period to ensure the best chance of establishment.

  • Dispatch period: Normally End of July-October.
  • Rhizomes are lifted, cleaned, and allowed to cure before posting.
  • Dispatch timing may vary slightly depending on weather and plant condition.

Customers will be notified when their order is ready to ship.

Shipping Method

All orders are shipped within the UK only.

  • Sent via Royal Mail or an equivalent tracked service.
  • Rhizomes are carefully packed to protect them during transit.
  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

We do not ship internationally at this time due to plant health and customs restrictions.

Combined Orders

If your order contains both pre-order and in-stock items, the entire order will be shipped together unless otherwise agreed.

If you require separate shipping, please contact us before placing your order.

Plant Health & Condition

All rhizomes are inspected before dispatch and sent in a healthy condition.

  • Natural variations in size and appearance is normal.
  • Minor cosmetic blemishes do not affect plant performance.
  • Rhizomes may appear dry on arrival - this is normal for dormant Irises.

Planting instructions are provided and should be followed for best results.

Loss, Damage & Issues

If your order arrives damaged or you believe there is a problem:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Provide clear pictures of the rhizomes and packaging.
  • we will assess and offer a replacement, refund or credit where appropriate.

Claims made after planting cannot be accepted.

Cancellations

  • Pre-orders may be cancelled before dispatch.
  • once an order has been shipped, cancellations are not possible.
  • Refunds for cancelled pre-orders will be processed within a reasonable timeframe.

Returns & Refund Policy

Due to the perishable and seasonal nature of live plants, our returns and refund policy differs slightly from non-living goods. This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Live Plants (Bearded Iris Rhizomes

Bearded Iris rhizomes are classed as perishable goods and are therefore non-returnable once dispatched, unless they arrive in unsatisfactory condition.

We do not accept returns for:

  • Change of mind after dispatch.
  • Failure to plant correctly or in suitable conditions.
  • Natural variations in size, shape or appearance.
  • Issues arising after planting or beyond our control.

Weather & Delays

Shipping fates may be delayed due to:

  • Extreme heat or adverse weather.
  • Plant readiness.
  • Unforeseen postal disruptions.

We will always prioritise plant health over speed and keep customers informed.
